Sophie uses her previous education in Computer Science and Informatics, as well as her research experience as a researcher for her master's to facilitate computational research at Northwestern. She supports the team’s daily operations and projects, provides consultations to researchers, improves the educational content on computing skills, and teaches workshops.
Prior to starting her current role, Sophie obtained her bachelor's degree in computer science from DePauw University. After that, Sophie earned her M.S in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine. At UC Irvine, her research and thesis revolved around the state of the field of software engineering in terms of environmental sustainability.
At both UC Irvine, as well as DePauw University, Sophie has accumulated a combined four years of experience as a teaching assistant and tutor. Outside of work, Sophie loves to be active and go for a run, but also enjoys relaxing at home and working on her crocheting skills.
