Haley supports the computational needs of Northwestern researchers across the university but focuses primarily on those pertaining to genomics. Her research experience includes genome assembly and annotation, genome-wide association studies, and comparative genomic, metabolomic, and transcriptomic analyses. As a Computational Specialist she leverages this experience to help Northwestern researchers design workflows, install necessary software, and allocate appropriate computational resources to meet research goals, as well as providing training in the form of workshops for the Northwestern research community.
She brings 3 years of experience working as student consultant with the RCDS Data Science team where she taught workshops on using R for data science in addition to consulting on projects for students, staff, and faculty.
Haley is also finishing writing her doctoral dissertation for a Ph.D. in Plant Biology from Northwestern and holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Brown University. In her spare time, she is a competitive sailor and likes to be outside with her dog.
