Technology Support During Winter Break

Northwestern IT is committed to ensuring that staff across our unit can enjoy time away during the 2024 winter break as broadly as possible. At the same time, we recognize our organization offers essential services that must continue 24/7. With that in mind, support for Northwestern services continues, and staff will be available during the break to assist, as needed, with essential services and critical support areas.

From December 24 through January 1, the campus community can contact 847-491-4357 (1-HELP) and dial “0” to reach the Service Operation Center for assistance, which will provide access to support staff who are on-call for urgent matters. Escalation will occur as appropriate to the respective staff, as required. Additionally, the Technology Support Center walk-up desk in the University Library will be closed from December 17 through January 1. 

Before contacting 1-HELP, please visit the IT Service Management Portal to find the IT information, resources, and support you need. The portal is a gateway to four essential areas of IT assistance: IT Service Catalog, IT Knowledge Base, Technology Support Tickets, and IT Service Status.

We are grateful to everyone who has formalized responsibilities during this period and those who may be called upon to assist. Our normal operations will resume on January 2, 2025.
