Jacobs Center Renovation to Create Series of Temporary Network Outages
Posted Date: November 4, 2024
The Donald P. Jacobs Center will be the home of Northwestern's new hub for social sciences and global studies. Renovating and expanding the Jacobs Center into a transformative new space will require temporary overnight network and telephone outages to a limited number of buildings across the Evanston campus from late fall through early winter. Northwestern IT is coordinating with Facilities Management and University Police to ensure a limited impact on the community.
The renovation work at the Jacobs Center will create a series of overnight network and telephone outages at limited locations. The work is expected to occur from approximately 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. on planned nights. The majority of the impacted buildings will maintain connectivity due to existing redundancies.
Northwestern IT and Facilities are coordinating with Northwestern University Police, technology leaders, and contacts at all impacted buildings to minimize disturbance and mitigate any disruption to University business.
Please visit the Status of University IT Services page for a list of affected buildings and the anticipated outage schedule.
